Hop in the driver’s seat, enjoy the wild, bumpy ride, and embark on an epic 2D retro driving adventure in Hill Climb Pixel Car. The pixelated graphics paired with arcade-styled music and sound effects radiate some nostalgic old-school vibes that will send you right back into the era of video game racing infancy in an instant.

Our protagonist is a jolly monkey, and the fact that he’s an above-average driver adds a hilarious kick to this already highly entertaining arcade driving experience. At the Vehicle shop, there are a total of 10 rides to unlock and upgrade, and the choices aren’t limited to mere cars. Additionally, you can purchase new wacky monkeys in the Character menu.

How to play Hill Climb Pixel Car

While there are Casual and Death-Race game modes available, despite all our efforts, we couldn’t spot any difference between the two, except for subtle changes in level designs. Traversing the stages shouldn’t be too much of an issue as long as you ensure that you rotate the ride just enough to always land wheels first after some big jumps.

The AI opponent always leaves you in the dust at the beginning of the race, but don’t get discouraged. In most cases, their reckless driving results in a fatal accident, so it’s usually enough to merely complete the stage to be the first to cross the finish line.

What are the controls for Hill Climb Pixel Car?

While playing in a PC browser, use the A/D or Left/Right arrow keys to accelerate, brake, and tilt the car midair left or right. Use the pedals located on the left and right side of a touchscreen device to do the same.
