Mostly Only Up
Mostly Only Up is a tricky 3D platformer in which you’ll control a parkour-savvy protagonist on his way to reaching the unforeseeable heights in an otherworldly environment. You’ll spawn on a desert-like planet with the most unexpected of objects mysteriously floating up in the air. They form sort of an infinite stairway toward the skies, and you’re on a mission to get as far up as possible.
The graphics and character animations are awesome, but the gameplay is pretty unforgiving, and no mistakes will be tolerated. Once the character falls down, you have to start from scratch, making the frustration inevitable. However, this game is awesome fine motor skills exercise, so if you enjoy playing tryhard 3D platformers, you might have just found your next favorite!
How to play Mostly Only Up?
Your character can walk, run, jump, and double jump. It’s important to realize how these abilities are correlated, especially the length each of the leaps traverses depending on whether the protagonist runs or merely walks. No two jumps are quite alike, so you must approach every obstacle differently to avoid making mistakes.
Maintaining focus throughout the game is probably the most difficult part of it. You don’t have to rush anything, so take your time to prepare thoroughly for each next leap. Using controls in midair continues to affect the protagonist’s trajectory, and this mechanic proves to be particularly useful.
