Mountain Climber
Mountain Climber is a challenging 3D action platformer with a single objective — reaching the flag at the very top of the rocky summit. The formidable cliffs are almost vertical, and at a glance, your task seems nigh impossible. Fortunately, after briefly scouting the area, you’ll realize that our protagonist has a secret weapon stashed nearby. The Minecraft-inspired pixelated graphics might have already led you to believe that you’ll be able to freely manipulate the surrounding terrain.
Once you pick up the block gun, you can shoot cubes that will stick to the targeted surfaces, paving a road toward the peak. You can also use it to remove the blocks already put in place. Since this is an online multiplayer game, other participants will rarely be cooperative and more often attempt to thwart your efforts. Despite this fact, the overall atmosphere is quite cozy, mostly due to the nice music and relaxing visual style.
How to play Mountain Climber
At least until you’ve mastered the game mechanics, you shouldn’t look at this game as a race but more as a marathon. With the block gun in your hands, there are virtually infinite ways to get to the top, so you’re free to explore at your own pace.
Keep in mind that the elevation and distance each jump covers are determined by how long you’re holding the input controls. Sometimes, a small hop will do the trick, and in other cases, you must get the maximum out of the leap to reach the next platform.
