Tug The Table Classic
Tug the Table is a peculiar 2D tug-of-war game featuring single-player and 2-player game modes. The physics behind the game are tricky and take quite some time to grasp, but the gameplay is essentially simple and easy to get into. There’s a white line drawn in the middle of the room, and a player loses the round once their character’s feet touch it.
The other loss condition is allowing the balls that occasionally spawn on the table to hit you in the head, and the first player to win 5 rounds is the winner. To become consistently good at this game, it’s not enough to merely spam the single-button control — you have to time the actions perfectly to outmaneuver your opponents.
How to play Tug the Table
The character will perform a squatting motion while you’re holding the single-button control, and stand up to start pulling once you let go. All this sounds simple enough, but getting it right in-game with all the variables involved is quite tricky.
You must be wary of the table’s tilt and the player’s current positions to avoid making unnecessary mistakes. Both players and the table will float in the air before the tugging begins, and it’s essential to get leverage from the get-go because it’s really hard to recover from a disadvantageous position if you fail to do so.
What are the controls for Tug the Table?
You can play Tug the Table on PC and mobile devices in both single-player and 2-player game modes. Use the arrow up/W keys to tug as P1/P2 if playing on a PC, and tap the blue/orange buttons on mobile.
