City Blocks
City Blocks is an extraordinary strategic puzzle game played on a 5-by-5 square board. The objective is to build the city in a barren desert that will provide housing for the biggest population possible. There are 8 different buildings in this game. The smallest of huts can house up to 4 citizens and the most advanced grandiose palaces have enough room for 512 inhabitants.
To upgrade the rudimentary homes into more advanced residences you must erect at least 3 of them adjacent to each other. The three upcoming buildings for which you must find a suitable plot of land are shown in the bottom left corner. Occasionally, you’ll earn jokers, which can be used to replace the next house in line with another of your choice. Once there’s no empty square to build on, the game is over, and your highest score is displayed in the main menu.
How to play City Blocks
The adjacent three or more lower-tier huts will merge into the more advanced homes and this is the only way of opening up the already occupied plots of land for the upcoming housing projects. Keep in mind that smaller buildings will become one at the very square you erect the final identical construction.
You can use this game mechanic to your advantage if you plan a few steps ahead, and even merge up to five buildings into a single more advanced one. While this strategy may not boost your score initially, in the long run, it’s much more important to think about freeing up as much space as possible.
